Weird and truly wonderful, Stephania erecta - otherwise known as the potato plant! Your plant's bulb (called a caudex) will have sprouted with beautifully round leaves that mount a barely-there ethereal stem. Your plant will be supported with a simple stake.

Pot diameter: 9cm approx

Plant & pot height: 30cm approx

Plant care: Stephania

Your plant appreciates bright light.

Add water when the top layer of soil has dried out. Treat your Stephania a little like a cactus or succulent, it doesn’t want too frequent watering as the bulb stores moisture. It will need more water during the active growing season less in winter.

Your plant appreciates humidity.

Top Tip

Keep away from cold temperatures!

During warmer months, houseplants are actively growing and will appreciate regular plant food. During colder months, a plants growth rate slows down and so they often need less water. Your caudex may go dormant over the colder months, resulting in loss of foliage.
